We have compiled the most frequently asked questions about Secondhandbags for you - and provide clear answers. If anything is still unclear, please get in touch with us directly.
At Secondhandbags, authenticity comes first. Every Bag is carefully inspected — by our network of experienced brand experts and, in addition, with the latest technology, such as the AI-based app Entrupy.
This allows us to combine expertise with artificial intelligence to reliably identify counterfeits and protect your purchase as effectively as possible.
Every Bag in our assortment not only tells a story - it is also 100% authentic. Guaranteed.
And because we stand behind our authenticity guarantee, we also take full responsibility in the unlikely event of an error: if an item were ever to turn out to be not authentic, we would not only refund the full purchase price, but also pay an additional premium in the amount of the item’s value. This promise applies to every Bag purchased from us - whether CHF 500 or CHF 25'000.
A promise we have never had to honour so far - and one we intend never to have to honour.
Yes – at Secondhandbags you can have your Bag authenticated independently of a sale through us.
All the details can be found in the menu under Services → Authenticity Guarantee & Authenticity Check.
The price for our authentication service is CHF 80.– per Bag.
For Hermès bags, an additional assessment fee of CHF 100.– applies – due to the greater level of effort and specialist expertise required.
Shipping note:
You are responsible for the shipping costs to us; return shipping is included in the price.
Also:
If, after the Authenticity Check, you decide on a consignment sale via Secondhandbags, the assessment fee will be fully credited to you.
We ship all our handbags directly from Switzerland. Shipping within Switzerland is free and insured. Orders outside Switzerland may be subject to customs charges, which must be covered by you.
Ordering from Secondhandbags is very straightforward.
Here’s how it works: Select a brand from the menu or search directly for your desired bag. Found your favourite piece? On the product page you’ll find all details about the Condition, price, delivery time, condition grade and much more.
Add the handbag to your cart and proceed to checkout. You can order either as a guest or with a customer account – all you need is an email address and your shipping address. You can pay by credit card, PayPal, Twint, Klarna, invoice purchase or instalments.
Ordered?
Voilà – a confirmation email is on its way to you. Your Bag will be carefully prepared and shipped from our Swiss logistics centre. As soon as it is on its way, you will receive a shipping confirmation with the tracking number by email.
Viewings are possible by appointment at our office. Please contact us to arrange an appointment at: info@secondhandbags.ch.
We have a worldwide network of suppliers. Due to customs processing, authentication procedures and a final, thorough cleaning, it can take up to 5–10 working days before the item is ready for dispatch. Important: If you pay in advance, the entire process only begins once payment has been received.
Yes, DHL will send you an invoice for customs clearance. You would also need to cover the shipping costs outside Switzerland.

In some cases, we have unworn display models. You will find a detailed description on each product page.
Once the Bag has been dispatched from us, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking number. In Switzerland, we ship with Swiss Post; internationally, with DHL. Your parcel is also fully insured right to your home.
With an invoice order, you can pay the invoice either in full or in instalments – you decide only once you receive the invoice. The payment period is always 14 days.
We work with our financing partner PowerPay for this purpose. They handle everything related to collections and reminders, and also carry out an identity and credit check.
Important note:
As there have unfortunately been repeated fraudulent invoice orders (different delivery address, hacked post account), an additional confirmation via SMS code is required for orders from CHF 1000.-.
Full amount
For the transfer, please use the blank deposit slip and enter the full invoice amount.
Instalment payment
Would you prefer to pay the amount in instalments?
- Enter the desired payment amount on the blank deposit slip.
- At least 10% of the merchandise value per instalment.
- For partial payments, you will receive a new invoice every month until everything is settled.
- The outstanding amount increases by 1% per month.
- You can choose a new amount for each instalment.
Per invoice, PowerPay additionally charges a processing fee of CHF 2.90 (Post) or CHF 1.90 (Email).
No, unfortunately we can only offer this service to residents of Switzerland.
We work with PowerPay for purchases on invoice. In some cases, a request may unfortunately be declined. Possible reasons include:
- You are not yet of legal age.
- The address provided cannot be found.
- Your current account limit is not sufficient at the moment.
- There are outstanding payments.
For data protection reasons, in most cases we do not receive any further details from PowerPay. Please contact PowerPay directly here for further information.
Alternatively, we also offer the payment option Klarna.
We have a broad network of contacts and dealers. Without promising too much, we can say: we can source almost any handbag for you. For particularly rare models, it may take a little longer. Just send us a quick message via our chat bubble, by email or WhatsApp – we’ll be happy to help.
